• WBJEE stands for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, which is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for admission to various undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy in colleges across the state.
• The exam is conducted once a year in offline mode (pen and paper-based) and consists of two papers - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry).
• The eligibility criteria for appearing in WBJEE includes passing the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as one of the subjects.
• Candidates must be Indian citizens and residents of West Bengal to be eligible for WBJEE.
• The exam pattern of WBJEE consists of multiple-choice questions with a total of 155 questions (75 in Mathematics, 40 in Physics, and 40 in Chemistry) to be completed in a duration of 4 hours.
• The syllabus for WBJEE is based on the topics covered in the 10+2 level curriculum of various boards such as CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards.
• The WBJEE counseling process is conducted online, and candidates have to register, fill choices of colleges and courses, and participate in the seat allotment process based on their rank in the entrance exam.
• The WBJEE rank is calculated based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam, and the merit list is prepared accordingly.
• The WBJEEB also releases the WBJEE cutoff marks for different colleges and courses, which are the minimum marks required for admission.
• Apart from WBJEE, candidates can also apply for admission to engineering colleges in West Bengal through JEE Main scores, provided they meet the eligibility criteria specified by the respective institutions.
