NEET Result - 10 things to know with detail
  • NEET Result Date: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) result is usually announced in the month of June.
  • NEET Result Declaration: The NEET result is declared on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • How to Check NEET Result: Candidates can check their NEET result by visiting the official website and entering their roll number and date of birth.
  • NEET Result Format: The NEET result is displayed in the form of a scorecard which includes details such as candidate's name, roll number, marks obtained in each section, total marks, percentile score, and All India Rank (AIR).
  • NEET Qualifying Marks: In order to qualify the NEET exam, candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the NTA. For general category candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 50th percentile, while for SC/ST/OBC candidates, it is 40th percentile.
  • NEET Merit List: Based on the NEET result, a merit list is prepared by the NTA which includes the names of candidates who have qualified the exam.
  • NEET Cut off: The NEET cut off is the minimum score required by candidates to qualify the exam and secure admission in medical and dental colleges. The cut off varies every year depending on various factors such as number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, and availability of seats.
  • NEET Counselling: After the declaration of NEET result, candidates who have qualified the exam are eligible to participate in the NEET counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges across India.
  • NEET Result Validity: The NEET result is valid for one year only, i.e., for the academic session in which the exam was conducted.
  • NEET Result Re-evaluation: In case candidates are not satisfied with their NEET result, they can apply for re-evaluation of their answer sheets by paying a nominal fee to the NTA.
