Tony Estanguet is a former French slalom canoeist who has won three Olympic gold medals in the C1 category at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the 2004 Athens Olympics, and the 2012 London Olympics.
He was born on May 6, 1978, in Pau, France, and comes from a family of athletes. His father, Henri Estanguet, was a canoeist and his brother, Patrice Estanguet, is also a successful canoeist.
Estanguet started canoeing at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the top athletes in the sport. He won his first world championship title in 1999 and went on to have a successful career on the international stage.
In addition to his Olympic success, Estanguet has also won multiple world championship titles and European championship titles in his career. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest slalom canoeists of all time.
