NEET PG - 10 things to know with detail
  • NEET PG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses. It is a national level entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma courses in medical colleges across India.
  • The exam is usually held once a year in the month of January. It is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered in 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • NEET PG is the only entrance exam for admission to MD/MS and PG Diploma courses in government, private, and deemed medical colleges in India. It replaced the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) in 2012.
  • The eligibility criteria for NEET PG include having a recognized MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate from a recognized medical college or university. Candidates must also have completed their one-year internship on or before March 31 of the exam year.
  • The exam syllabus for NEET PG is based on the MBBS curriculum and covers subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and other subjects.
