Hakone Sekisho
Hakone Sekisho is a historical checkpoint located in Hakone, Japan. It was established in 1619 by the Tokugawa Shogunate to control the movement of people and goods between the Kanto and Kansai regions. The checkpoint is located at the entrance to the Hakone Pass, a mountain pass that connects the two regions. The checkpoint consists of a series of gates, walls, and guardhouses, and is a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan. Today, the checkpoint is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a glimpse into the past and a chance to experience the traditional atmosphere of the Edo period.
