Takayama Jinya

Takayama Jinya is a historic government building located in Takayama, Japan. Built in 1692, it served as the regional government office for the Hida region during the Edo period. The building is a two-story wooden structure with a large courtyard and a garden. It is one of the few remaining Edo period government buildings in Japan and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Inside the building, visitors can view the original Edo period furnishings, including a large meeting room, a reception room, and a jail. The building also houses a museum with displays of artifacts from the Edo period.
