University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge is a collegiate public research university located in Cambridge, United Kingdom. It is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's fourth-oldest surviving university. The university grew out of an association of scholars who left the University of Oxford after a dispute with the townspeople. The university is made up of 31 constituent colleges, over 100 academic departments, and numerous other institutions. It has a student body of over 19,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university is consistently ranked among the world's best universities and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive universities. It is also a member of the League of European Research Universities and the International Alliance of Research Universities.
