Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. Located in Edinburgh, it is the setting for state ceremonies and official entertaining. The palace is a stunning example of Scottish baroque architecture and is surrounded by the beautiful Holyrood Park. It is home to the historic Great Gallery, the Throne Room, and the Royal Apartments, which are open to the public. The palace also houses the ruins of the 12th-century Holyrood Abbey, which was founded by King David I of Scotland. The palace is a popular tourist attraction and is the venue for the annual Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
