The U.S. Capitol
The United States Capitol is the meeting place of the United States Congress, the legislature of the federal government of the United States. Located in Washington, D.C., it sits atop Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall. The Capitol was initially completed in 1800 and has since been expanded, particularly with the addition of the massive dome in The Capitol is a symbol of the American people and their government, and the meeting place of the nation's legislature.
