Lake Burley Griffin is a man-made lake located in the heart of Canberra, Australia. It was created in 1964 as part of the design of the city and is named after the designer, Walter Burley Griffin. The lake is 2 km long and has a circumference of 24.3 km. It is fed by the Molonglo River and is surrounded by a number of parks, gardens, and monuments. The lake is a popular spot for recreational activities such as swimming, sailing, kayaking, and fishing. It is also home to a number of iconic landmarks such as the National Carillon, the Captain Cook Memorial Jet, and the National Gallery of Australia.
