History
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is one of the most vibrant cities in India. It is known for its rich culture, vibrant colors, and majestic forts and palaces. The city was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. He was a great warrior and a visionary ruler who wanted to create a city that would be a symbol of his power and grandeur.
Geography
Jaipur is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan and is located in the north-western part of the country. It is the largest city in the state and is known as the “Pink City” due to the pink-colored buildings in the old city. Jaipur is situated in the semi-arid region of Rajasthan and is surrounded by the Aravalli Range. The city is located at an elevation of 431 meters above sea level and has an area of about 200 square kilometers.
