Colosseum - Rome - Italy
Colosseum
The Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Rome, Italy, and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Built between 70 and 80 AD, it is a large amphitheater located in the center of the city. It was used for gladiatorial contests, public spectacles, and other events. It is the largest amphitheater ever built and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. The Colosseum is made of travertine stone and is elliptical in shape, measuring 188 meters long, 156 meters wide, and 48 meters high. It has four tiers of seating, with the top tier reserved for the Roman Emperor and his family. The Colosseum is now a popular tourist attraction and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
