Todai-ji Temple
Todai-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Nara, Japan. It is one of the most famous and historically significant temples in Japan. The temple was founded in 752 and is the head temple of the Kegon school of Buddhism. It is also the world’s largest wooden building and houses the world’s largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana, which is known as the Daibutsu. The temple grounds also contain a number of other important structures, including the Nandaimon Gate, the Kaidan-in Hall, and the Shoso-in Treasure House. The temple is a popular tourist destination and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
