Diamond Head
Diamond Head is a volcanic tuff cone located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It is a United States State Monument and part of the Honolulu cityscape. The crater was formed approximately 300,000 years ago during a single explosive eruption and is now a defining feature of the Waikiki skyline. The crater is about 3,520 feet in diameter and 760 feet high. It is a popular hiking destination, offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu, and the Waikiki neighborhood. The trail to the summit is a moderate 6 mile round trip hike, with an elevation gain of 560 feet. The trail is well-maintained and features several switchbacks and tunnels. At the summit, visitors can explore the historic World War II bunkers and take in the breathtaking views.
