Samaria Gorge
Samaria Gorge is a stunning natural wonder located in the White Mountains of Crete, Greece. It is the longest gorge in Europe, stretching for 16 km (10 miles) from the village of Omalos to the village of Agia Roumeli. The gorge is home to a variety of wildlife, including the endangered Cretan wild goat, the kri-kri. The walls of the gorge rise up to a height of 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and are covered in lush vegetation. The gorge is a popular hiking destination, with trails that lead to the bottom of the gorge and to the top of the White Mountains. The hike takes about 6-7 hours and is considered to be one of the most beautiful hikes in Europe.
