Dakshineswar Kali Temple
Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a Hindu temple located in Kolkata, India. It is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali and was built in 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, a philanthropist and a devotee of Kali. The temple is situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, and is one of the most famous temples in Kolkata. The temple complex consists of a large courtyard surrounded by twelve shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, a temple dedicated to Radha-Krishna, and a temple dedicated to Rani Rashmoni. The main temple is a nine-spired structure and is built in the traditional style of Bengal architecture. The temple is also known for its association with Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, a famous 19th century mystic and spiritual leader.
