It was built between 1737 and 1749 to house the Radcliffe Science Library and is now part of the Bodleian Library. The building is circular in plan, with a domed roof and a large portico. It is built of local Oxfordshire limestone and is one of the most iconic buildings in Oxford. The building is used for various events, including lectures, concerts, and exhibitions. It is also a popular tourist attraction, with visitors able to view the interior of the building from the portico.
