Muir Woods National Monument
Muir Woods National Monument is a protected area located in the Marin County of San Francisco, California, United States. It is a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is one of the most visited national parks in the United States. The park is named after naturalist John Muir and is home to some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world. It is home to the ancient and majestic redwood trees, some of which are over 250 feet tall and more than 1,000 years old. The park also features a variety of other trees, plants, and wildlife, including the endangered marbled murrelet. Visitors can explore the park's trails, picnic areas, and visitor center, as well as take part in ranger-led programs and educational activities.
