Fort St. George
Fort St. George is a historical fort located in Chennai, India. It is the first British fortress in India, built in 1644 by the East India Company. The fort is named after St. George, the patron saint of England. It is now a museum and a popular tourist attraction. The fort is surrounded by a moat and has a number of buildings, including the St. Mary's Church, the oldest Anglican church in India, and the Fort Museum, which houses artifacts from the colonial era. The fort also houses the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat.
