Basilica of Bom Jesus
The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Old Goa, India. It is one of the oldest churches in India and is famous for housing the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. The church was built in 1605 by the Portuguese and is considered to be one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in India. The interior of the church is decorated with intricate designs and sculptures. The main altar is made of marble and is adorned with a large painting of St. Francis Xavier. The church also houses a museum which displays artifacts related to the life and works of St. Francis Xavier. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a popular tourist destination and is visited by thousands of people every year.
