Marine Drive

Marine Drive is a 6-kilometer-long boulevard in South Mumbai in the city of Mumbai, India. It is a 'C'-shaped six-lane concrete road along the coast, which is a natural bay. The road links Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill. Marine Drive is situated over reclaimed land facing west-south-west. On one side of the road is the Arabian Sea and on the other side are some of Mumbai's most expensive high-rise residential buildings. The view of the setting and rising sun over the Arabian Sea from Marine Drive is spectacular. The promenade is lined with palm trees and is a popular hangout for Mumbaikars. It is also known as the Queen's Necklace because, if viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace.
