Ancient Stadium of Delphi
The Ancient Stadium of Delphi is an ancient Greek stadium located in Delphi, Greece. It was built in the 5th century BC and was used for the Pythian Games, a religious and athletic festival held every four years in honor of Apollo. The stadium was built on the south slope of Mount Parnassus and could seat up to 6,500 spectators. It was constructed of limestone and had a track of about 200 meters in length. The track was divided into two parts, the stadion and the hippodrome, and was surrounded by a wall. The stadium was also used for musical performances and theatrical performances. The Ancient Stadium of Delphi is a popular tourist attraction and is still used today for cultural events.
