India Gate
India Gate is a war memorial located in New Delhi, India. It was built in 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in World War I and the Afghan Wars. The 42-meter-high archway is made of red and pale sandstone and is inscribed with the names of more than 13,000 Indian soldiers who died in the war. The India Gate is a popular tourist destination and is often lit up at night. It is surrounded by lush green lawns and is a popular spot for picnics and leisurely strolls.
