Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India and is located in the old city of Delhi. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1644 and 1656 and is considered to be one of the most important mosques in India. The mosque is made of red sandstone and white marble and is surrounded by a courtyard. The courtyard can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers at a time. The mosque has three gateways, four towers and two 40 meter high minarets. The interior of the mosque is decorated with intricate carvings and calligraphy. The mosque also houses a number of relics, including a copy of the Quran written on deerskin.
