Rousanou Monastery
Rousanou Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery located in Meteora, Greece. It is one of the six monasteries built on natural sandstone rock pillars in the area. The monastery was founded in the 16th century by two monks, Maximos and Ioasaph, and is dedicated to the Transfiguration of Jesus. The monastery is accessible by a steep set of stairs carved into the rock. Inside the monastery, visitors can explore the church, which is decorated with frescoes, and the monks' cells. The monastery also has a small museum with artifacts from its history. The views from the monastery are breathtaking, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding area.
