St. Nicholas Anapafsas Monastery
St. Nicholas Anapafsas Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery located in the Meteora region of Greece. It is one of the six monasteries that are still active in the area. The monastery was founded in the 14th century and is perched atop a sandstone rock formation. It is accessible by a steep stairway of more than 150 steps. The monastery is known for its stunning views of the surrounding landscape and its unique architecture. Inside the monastery, visitors can explore the chapel, the refectory, and the cells of the monks. The monastery also houses a museum with artifacts from the Byzantine era.
